Aus den Händen des Berliner Malers, Radierers und Kupferstechers Wilhelm Jury; seit 1779 Schüler an der Berliner Akademie und anschließend Lehrling an der dortigen Prozellanmanufaktur; unter dem bekannten Kupferstecher Daniel Berger lernte er ab 1788 sein Handwerk; bekannt für seine Kupferstiche und Bücherillustrationen, einer der ersten “Modekünstler” in Bücherkupfer, besonders zu Romanen. Miniature and illustration of a contemporary play. From the hands of the Berlin painter, etcher and engraver Wilhelm Jury; since 1779 student at the Berlin academy and afterwards apprentice at the local procelain manufactory; he learned his trade under the famous engraver Daniel Berger from 1788 on; known for his engravings and book illustrations, one of the first “fashion artists” in book engravings, especially to novels.
