Epitaphenhaftes Widmungsblatt in Ehren der Gesetzgebung und des Parlaments in Großbritannien anlässlich der geänderten Gesetze zum Kopierschutz „Hogarths Act“. „In humble & grateful Acknowledgment of the Grace & Goodness of the Legislature, Manifested In the Act of Parliament for the Encouragement of the Arts of Designing Engraving &c; Obtain’d by the Endeavours & almost at the Sole Expence of the designer of this Print in the Year 1735: By which not only the Professors of those Arts were rescued from the Tyranny Frauds & Piracies of Monopolising Dealers [.]“. Zeigt eine Ansammlung an Herrschaftsinsignien, Kronen, Zepter, Wappenschilde unter der St.-Edwards-Krone (St. Edward’s Crown).

Darunter vom Künstler signiert und datiert: „Designed, Etch’d & Publish’d as the Act directs by Wm Hogarth, March 20th 1754“.

Zustand:

Guter Zustand. Insbesondere entlang der Kanten stellenweise fleckig und verschmutzt. Oben mittig befindet sich ein kurzer Randeinriss. Links mittig befindet sich ein restaurierter Ausriss. Die linke obere Blattecke ist geknickt. Entlang der rechten Blattkante sind einzelne Stoßspuren zu erkennen. Die Darstellung ist mittig schwach berieben.

Shows a collection of ruling insignia, crowns, scepters, coats of arms under the St Edward’s Crown. Below signed and dated by the artist: „Designed, Etch’d & Publish’d as the Act directs by Wm Hogarth, March 20th 1754“.

good state. Especially along the edges in places stained and dirty. At the top in the middle there is a short tear at the edge. On the left in the middle there is a restored tear-out. The upper left corner of the Sheet: is bent. Along the right edge of the sheet, individual butt marks can be seen. The representation is slightly rubbed in the middle.
