- Beschreibung: Der emblematische Aufbau des Blattes trägt oberhalb den Titel “Christus wird ins Grab gelegt”. Oval gerahmt und von andächtigen Engeln umgeben sehen wir mittig die ikonographische Szene der Beweinung Christi, die unterhalb von zwei Heilgendarstellungen der St. Johanna und der St. Karolina flankiert wird. Den unteren Abschluss des Bildes bildet der Vers aus dem Lucas Evangelium 23,53: “”Joseph v. Arimathea erhialt von Pilatus Erlaubniss, den Leib Jesu zu begraben.”.

- Inscription: Signed lower right “Pr. b. W. Hoffman.” and numbered “N. 561.” on the left.

- Description: The emblematic structure of the sheet bears the title “Christ is laid in the grave” above. Framed in an oval and surrounded by devotional angels, we see the iconographic scene of the Lamentation of Christ in the centre, which is flanked below by two representations of the saints St. Joan and St. Caroline. At the bottom of the painting is the verse from the Gospel of Lucas 23:53: “Joseph of Arimathea obtains permission from Pilate to bury the body of Jesus”.
