- Beschreibung: Ferrotypie oder Tintype in altem, aufwendig gefertigtem Etui aus thermoplastischem Gussmaterial mit Samteinlage (sog. “Union Case”). Aufwendig gefasste Tintype (Ferrotypie) mit handgemaltem Goldschmuck einer wohlhabenden Familie mit Tochter. Die Darstellung zeichnet sich besonders an der Kleidung durch hohe Tiefenschärfe und Detailgenauigkeit aus. Die Köpfe sind durch die Bewegung der Porträtierten leicht verschwommen. Die Produkthinweise im Inneren des Etui weisen auf die Herkunft aus England hin.

- Zustand: Guter Zustand. Die Schachtel weist Gebrauchs- und Abnutzungsspuren auf und ist entlang einer der kurzen Kanten gebrochen. Im Deckel befindet sich ein Bohrloch. Die Ferrotypie macht einen guten Eindruck und weist kleinere Kratzer sowie Pinselspuren(?) auf.

- Description: Ferrotype or tintype in an old, elaborately made case of thermoplastic cast material with velvet inlay (so-called “Union Case”). Elaborately set tintype (ferrotype) with hand-painted gold jewellery of a wealthy family with daughter. The depiction is characterised by high depth of field and detail, especially on the clothing. The heads are slightly blurred due to the movement of the sitter. The product notes inside the case indicate the origin from England.

- Condition: Good condition. The box shows signs of use and wear and is broken along one of the short edges. There is a drilled hole in the lid. The ferrotype makes a good impression and has minor scratches as well as brush marks(?).
