Ausschnitthaftes Landschaftsbild mit Blick in einen freundlich erhellten Wald. Der Boden ist mit üppigem Gebüsch und Sträuchern bedeckt. Dabei wechseln sich helle und dunkle Partien spielend ab und vermitteln einen guten Eindruck des Licht- und Schattenspiels, wie es sich an einem Sommertag im Wald vollzieht. Vor allem die drei in Nahsicht wiedergegebenen, säulenartigen Stämme hoher Bäume mit ihren starken Schlagschatten stechen heraus. - Datierung: 1909

Excerpt of a landscape with a view into a friendly illuminated forest. The ground is covered with lush bushes and shrubs. Light and dark areas alternate playfully and convey a good impression of the play of light and shadow that takes place in the forest on a summer’s day. Especially the three columnar trunks of tall trees with their strong cast shadows, reproduced in close-up, stand out. - Date: 1909
