Blick auf ein Gehöft am Ufer eines Flusses, welches dem Titel nach das Haus des Dichters Salomon GESSNERS darstellt. Im Sihlwald, nahe Zürichs, gelegen, ist das Haus von Laub- und Nadelbäumen umgeben. Eine hölzerne Brücke führt über den Fluss zu dem Anwesen. Salomon GESSNER war ein schweizer Idyllendichter, Maler und Grafiker und erlangte durch sein “Lied eines Schweizers an sein bewaffnetes Mädchen” und das Gemälde “Die Nacht” Bekanntheit.

View of a farmstead on the bank of a river, which according to the title represents the house of the poet Salomon GESSNERS. Situated in the Sihlwald, near Zurich, the house is surrounded by deciduous and coniferous trees. A wooden bridge leads across the river to the estate. Salomon GESSNER was a Swiss idyll poet, painter and graphic artist and achieved fame through his “Song of a Swiss to his Armed Girl” and the painting “The Night”.
