Darstellung einer der Hauptfiguren aus dem Märchen von Hans Christian Andersen. Zu sehen ist im halbfigurigen Porträt die elegante Gräfin mit Pinsel und Palette, wie sie die zwei Pflanzen malt. Apfelblütenzweig und Hundsblume erkennen, dass sie beide trotz unterschiedlicher Größe und Gestalt jeweils eine eigene Schönheit besitzen.
Die Illustration stammt aus dem Nachlass des Künstlers, Illustrators und Kostümzeichners Erhard KLEPPER und ist das 18. Motiv aus einer Reihe von Märchenillustrationen zu Hans Christian Andersen.

Depiction of one of the main characters from the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. The half-figure portrait shows the elegant countess with brush and palette painting the two plants. Apple blossom branch and dog flower realise that they both have their own beauty despite their different size and shape.
The illustration comes from the estate of the artist, illustrator and costume draughtsman Erhard KLEPPER and is the 18th motif from a series of fairy tale illustrations on Hans Christian Andersen.
