Taubert, bereits 1831 zum Dirigent der Berliner Hofkonzerte berufen, wurde nur weniger Jahre später der Musikdirektor der Königlichen Oper. Er komponierte Opern und Sinfonien, Kantaten und Schauspielmusiken, Streichquartette genauso wie Klaviersonaten und über 300 Lieder.

- Description: Seated portrait of the German pianist and composer Wilhelm Taubert. Taubert, already appointed conductor of the Berlin Court Concerts in 1831, became the music director of the Royal Opera only a few years later. He composed operas and symphonies, cantatas and theatre music, string quartets as well as piano sonatas and over 300 songs.
