From the hands of the Berlin painter, etcher and engraver Wilhelm Jury; student at the Berlin Academy since 1779 and subsequently apprentice at the procelain manufactory there; he learned his trade under the well-known engraver Daniel Berger from 1788; known for his engravings and book illustrations, one of the first “fashion artists” in book engravings, especially to novels.
