Salvator Rosa war ein italienischer Maler in der Epoche des Barock, aber auch Drucker, Poet und Satireautor. Er war in Neapel, Rom und Florenz aktiv und vor allem für seine unkonventionellen und romantischen Landschaftsbilder bekannt. Als vielseitger Anhänger des Barock, ging Rosa seinem Talent auch in der Musik, der Poesie, im Schrieben, der Gravur und der Rezitation nach. - Datierung: um 1657

Salvator Rosa was an Italian painter in the Baroque era, but also a printer, poet and satirical author. He was active in Naples, Rome and Florence and was especially known for his unconventional and romantic landscape paintings.
