Wohl noch in seiner Züricher Zeit begann S. Walch sein bekanntestes Werk, das von ihm herausgegebenen und mit einem Vorwort und Text versehene Buch mit 60 Porträts sämtlicher Züricher Bürgermeister von 1336 bis 1742. Die Porträts gehen auf Vorlagen, die Johann Caspar Füssli nach Originalen in der Züricher Stadtbibliothek zeichnete zurück und die Walch selbst und Valentin Daniel Preissler in Schabmanier stachen.

- Zustand: Guter Zustand. Das Papier ist altersbedingt verfärbt. Das Blatt ist blass stockfleckig. Entlang der Blattkanten vereinzelt bestoßen. Die Blattecken sind durch Stoßspuren und Knicke beschädigt. Das Papier weist leichte Knickfalten auf. Die Darstellung macht einen sehr guten Eindruck. Randeinriss im linken Rand wurde verso geklebt. Im Rand vereinzelt kleine Rostflecken.

While still in Zurich, S. Walch began his best-known work, the book of 60 portraits of all the mayors of Zurich from 1336 to 1742, which he edited and provided with a preface and text. The portraits are based on models drawn by Johann Caspar Füssli from originals in the Zurich City Library and engraved by Walch himself and Valentin Daniel Preissler in the mezzotint style.

The paper shows slight creases. The image makes a very good impression. Marginal tear in left margin was glued on verso. In the margin isolated small rust spots.
