- Beschreibung: Entwurfsskizze eines ausgewachsenen Baumes mit kräftigem Stamm, ausladender Krone und dichtem Blattwerk. Darunter beschriftet mit “Waringi auf Probolingo. 22 Mai 1843.” Der Bildunterschrift zufolge handelt es sich demnach um eine Birkenfeige (Waringin), der sich in der indonesischen Stadt Probolingo befindet. Darunter Mitschriften des Künstlers mit Angaben zur Farbwahl des Baumes: “Baum grünblau Laub tiefgrün glänzend Stamm [..]”.

- Zustand: Guter Zustand. Das Blatt hat sich altersgemäß verfärbt. Stellenweise mit blassen Stockflecken um die Blattränder. Mit drei Klebestreifen, die das Blatt mit dem Passepartout befestigen, am oberen Blattrand. Rechte untere Blattecke geringfügig bestoßen.

Inscribed below with “Waringi on Probolingo. 22 May 1843.” According to the caption, this is a birch fig (Waringin) located in the Indonesian town of Probolingo. Below this, transcripts by the artist with information on the choice of colour of the tree: “Tree green-blue foliage deep green shiny trunk […]”.
