Sehr schönes Bildnis des Jean Lannes (1769 Lectour – 1809 in Kaiserebersdorf bei Wien). Er war Maréchal d’Empire und einer der engsten Freunde Napoléon Bonapartes. Er stach hervor durch seine Tapferkeit beim Übergang über den Po und die Brücke von Lodi, ebenso wie im Gefecht bei Bassano und beim Sturm von Pavia, wo er zum ‘Général de brigade’ befördert wurde. Mit Auszeichnung kämpfte er bei der Belagerung von Mantua und in der Schlacht bei Arcole mit. Napoleon sagte über ihn, dem der Aufstieg vom Bauernsohn und einfachen Soldaten bis zum Marschall gelang: “..ich traf einen Zwerg, aber ich verlor einen Riesen.” - Datierung: 1807

- Zustand: Guter Zustand. Das Blatt ist altersbedingt gebräunt und leicht lichtrandig. Im unteren Bereich der Druckplatte fingerfleckig, stellenweise sind Knickspuren festzustellen. Die Porträtdarstellung macht einen sehr guten Eindruck.

Very nice portrait of Jean Lannes (1769 Lectour – 1809 in Kaiserebersdorf near Vienna). He was Maréchal d’Empire and one of the closest friends of Napoléon Bonaparte. He stood out for his bravery in the crossing of the Po and the bridge of Lodi, as well as in the battle of Bassano and the storm of Pavia, where he was promoted to ‘Général de brigade’. He fought with distinction in the siege of Mantua and in the battle of Arcole.
