- Beschreibung: Ruhige Genreszene eines frommen Predigers, auf einer Parkbank sitzend und in der Bibel lesend. Neben ihm sitzt sein Sohn, der ihm in Kleidung und Lektüre nacheifert. Beinahe ironische Darstellung frommer Religiosität, die die Redewendung “Der Apfel fällt nicht weit vom Stamm” wunderbar illustriert.

- Zustand: Sehr guter Zustand. Auf dem Blattrand sind vereinzelt kleine Stockflecken erkennbar. Rechts oben befindet sich ein langer Randeinriss. Entlang der Kanten befinden sich rückseitige Klebereste einer früheren Rahmung.

- Description: Quiet genre scene of a pious preacher sitting on a park bench and reading the Bible. Next to him sits his son, who emulates him in dress and reading. Almost ironic portrayal of pious religiosity that beautifully illustrates the saying “the apple does not fall far from the tree”.

- Condition: Very good condition. Small spots of foxing are visible on the margins. There is a long tear at the upper right margin. Along the edges there are remnants of glue from an earlier framing on the reverse.
